Tooth Extractions

Extractions are carried out when a tooth is severely decayed, broken, or infected beyond repair.

What to Expect:

  • Local anaesthetic will be used to ensure comfort.
  • The procedure is quick and minimally invasive.
  • You’ll receive full aftercare instructions to support healing.

Dry Socket (Complication After Extraction)

A dry socket can occur if the blood clot at the extraction site is dislodged or fails to form.

Symptoms include:

  • Sharp pain 2–4 days after extraction
  • Bad taste or odour
  • Exposed bone in the socket

What to Do:

Call the practice. We can apply a medicated dressing and provide advice to support healing. To avoid dry socket, do not smoke, spit, or use straws after an extraction.
